I am Meagan S. Howard. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from University of Houston - Clear Lake. I am currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern in the state of Texas under the supervision of Kenyon Arthur, MA, LPC-S.
I began my career as a Caseworker at Adult Protective Services where I worked with the Elderly and Disabled. I later began working with those with Intellectual Disabilities at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, formerly MHMRA of Harris County. I now counsel individuals with Mental Health issues at The Harris Center as an LPHA-Intern. While in graduate school, I completed Practicum at Kruse Elementary where I counseled Elementary Students and West Oaks Hospital where I counseled children, adolescents and adults. My theoretical preferences include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I've counseled individuals struggling with the following:
- Suicidal Ideation
- Homicidal Ideation
I have always had a passion for instilling hope, motivating, empowering and encouraging others. I believe in meeting others where they are and collaborating with them to increase their quality of living. My goal is to assist them in gathering the tools to conquer future challenges they may face. We've all experienced tough seasons and some are a little more difficult to get through. Allow me to assist you in working through the challenges you may be facing.
