Debbie Edmunds, MA, LPC-S, CART, Owner

As a fellow human being I've experienced the happiness and joy that lets us know we are truly alive in a world with many wonders. To see a blue sky, to smell a rose, see the smile on the face of a child, to love another. I also know what it is like to have struggled with pain and suffering, to face challenges and emerge even stronger.

I believe you've worked and sacrificed in many ways to earn your happiness and joy and don't want to allow the stresses of life to get in your way. I also know that sometimes the road of life can be fraught with many roadblocks and a guide can help. If you feel the same allow me to be your guide.

My specialities include:

  • Working with other human beings ages 12+, who want to find happiness by being shown compassion and respect.
  • Helping those who've experienced trauma find ways to self-soothe using healthy coping vs self-injury and other forms of maladaptive coping strategies.
  • Providing services to those from all walks of life, including all types of professionals who want to find happiness without having to be diagnosed with a mental illness.

I also strive for cultural awareness and sensitivity in my practice.

Get it in gear, be kind to your mind and become a healthier, happier you by scheduling an appointment.

I am an LPC-Supervisor (resume) and I supervise LPC-Interns and Practicum Students with varied interests coming from various schools in the area. My theoretical approach is mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy although I utilize approaches from other therapeutic philosophies. Successful completion of some internships will occur in the near future. Please contact me if you require a supervisor. I am a graduate of the University of Houston - Clear Lake and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. I am also skilled at instructing clinicians about how to begin a successful private practice. If you're serious about your career, call me. Your success awaits.

It is my desire to accommodate my patients' needs as much as possible and realize it is not always easy or practical to travel to see me. Because I know the people who choose me as their therapist are dedicated to their mental health I want to offer teletherapy services (only to Texas residents after being seen at least once face-to-face) when getting to my office poses a legitimate challenge. While I won't be able to observe your body language, an important part of the therapeutic process, teletherapy does allow for you to continue your momentum regarding your mental health care in a HIPAA compliant environment with SecureVideo. Talk to me soon about putting your existing technology to work as part of your continued self care.
