Cordia Anderson-Hopkins, MA, LCSW
I have over 25 years of counseling experience and I earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston in 2000 and am licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work in 1991 I obtained a secondary Baccalaureate in Music Therapy from Sam Houston State University.

I have a wealth of experience working in the area of mental health, including hyper-activity, inattention, oppositional defiant disorder, mood disorder, anxiety disorders, issues causing poor academic performance, parent-child conflict, socialization, marital-discord, low self-esteem, women’s issues, relational issues as well as advocacy.

My education, training, and experience have afforded me the opportunity to work with groups, couples, children, adolescents, adults and families, in private practice, outpatient integrated multi-specialty clinic settings, medical, inpatient psychiatric, schools, child protection, and trauma. I have provided clients with hope in their quest to live richer fuller lives; working through the obstacles blocking them from reaching their full potential in all areas of their lives.

I'm varied in my approach to providing therapy services. It is my belief that there is no one approach that works better than the other, rather it is a combination that helps individuals reach their goals of treatment. The approaches used include, but may not be limited to Client-Centered, Motivational, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Strength-Based and Play Therapy.

I believe each person has their unique gifts, and challenges. I treat the whole person helping them to achieve a healthy approach in all the areas of their lives.
